 Monday
and the first entry this week. I am well into macro at the moment and trying
to capture pictures of anything small or reasonably so that will stay still
long enough for me to focus on it etc. Fairly good success with these two, the
bee and the meadow brown. The latter is not always the easiest to take as it
has a habit of not staying anywhere too long.

 Wednesday
and still in macro mode as these photos of a damsel fly and hover fly show. I
still see nothing common in the magnificent colours of the former.

Friday
and still in macro mode when the weather is bright enough to take a
reasonable photo or we find a good subject. This moth is a large yellow
underwing and although the markings are very pretty if you could see the startling
yellow underwing which it displays when flying you would understand that I
was disappointed that it would not keep its wings open.

 Saturday
- again and a week that began with a bee ends with one. However there is also
a rather strange bird on our feeder if you look closely. Yesterday we watched
as a rather adventurous wood mouse proceeded to climb up our shepherd's crook
holder, failing in the attempt a couple of times but persevering until at
last it achieved it's aim of getting to the feeder where it enjoyed the
rewards of it's labours.
