Weekly photographic diary

Sunday and another lazy, hazy, crazy day of summer, unusual in June but one which everyone is taking advantage of. Alongside the humming of the insects there is the sound of distant mowers and the constant singing of birds. Was able to use my macro lens with good effect on this damsel fly. I am very grateful to the people who designed digital photography for every photo which I consider worth saving there  must be at least a dozen that are discarded!

I am quite enjoying looking out for various insects, moths and butterflies to take photographs with and here are the two latest. On the left is a buff ermine moth and on the right a lime-speck pug moth. Both pretty common according to the book, but it is the first time that I have managed to obtain a photograph so they are special for me.
