Weekly photographic diary

This is the third week of the project.

Sunday, and it strikes me that even the things we often consider to be at the best uninteresting and sometimes positively ugly have a beauty of their own, like this fungus. And often the things we take most for granted, like this great tit, one of our more common garden birds, gives a great deal of simple pleasure.

Monday and I thought I might experiment with an animation of a photo burst of a coal tit feeding

Tuesday and although bright the weather was decidedly chilly. The periwinkle (vinca minor) hiding in the hedgerow brightened the day.

Wednesday, very cold today, in fact there have been a few odd snowflakes in the rain. However the garden continues to blossom as these snakes head fritillaries prove.

Thursday and spent some considerable time preparing for next week which is Holy Week. Also spent some time last night making this crown of thorns which is meant to look like a nest in which we can place some Easter eggs for the Lent course for tonight. The symbolism is that in the midst of pain is new life.

Friday and the school end of term service which took the form of a Palm Sunday service but on a Friday in preparation for Easter. Here the donkey arrives having brought itself and it's owner.

Here the donkey leads the children round by the porch of St. Mary's.
It was all most enjoyable with the children performing a song  they had composed and reading poems they had written.

Saturday and the morning is bright. Having put some nutes out on the patio I managed to get a photo of both the jay and the squirrel together, although as in all group photos someone moved!!
